Short Biography

Dominik Widhalm is a Researcher and Lecturer in the Department of Electronic Engineering, Research Group Embedded Systems, at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien, where he has been since 2012. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering and an M.Sc. degree in Embedded Systems, both from the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien. In 2022, he received his doctoral degree in Computer Science from the Vienna University of Technology.

His research interest include fault tolerance and detection techniques with a focus on wireless sensor networks. In this context, he focuses on approaches for (node) anomaly and fault detection on the node level. As part of his dissertation, he especially investigated the applicability of computational intelligence (i.e., immune-inspired approaches) for lightweight sensor node fault detection.

Dominik Widhalm started working as a researcher at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien within the AC-Centrope II project where he was working on wired communication systems for e-mobility. From 2013 to 2018 he was part of the Josef Ressel Center for Verification of Embedded Computing Systems in cooperation with Infineon Technologies Austria AG where his research focus was mixed-signal SoC verification. From July 2017 until October 2018 he was additionally working in cooperation with Elektrobit Austria on Adaptive AUTOSAR-related topics. From October 2018 until September 2022 Dominik Widhalm was part of the doctoral college for resilient embedded systems jointly hosted by the Vienna University of Technology and the UAS Technikum Wien.
